Five Get Into
Trouble

By - Enid Blyton
First published in 1949

It's the Easter holidays and the Five plan a biking trip
exploring the countryside by themselves.

One morning, whilst taking a swim, they meet up with a young boy by the name of Richard.  They learn that Richard is the son of millionaire Thurlow Kent and turns out to be very spoilt!  The Five "put up" with him for a while before delivering him safely to his Aunt's house in a nearby village.

Then something very strange happens!  Dick is dramatically kidnapped and bundled off in a big black car.  The others are mystified as to why someone would want to kidnap Dick, that is until Richard Kent turns back up, frightened and sobbing.  It doesn't take long for everyone to work out that a simple case of mistaken identity had occurred.

Luckily, Anne had managed to overhear some of the
kidappers' conversation while she had been hiding in a nearby tree.  She had heard them mention a place called "Owls Dene."  With a little detective work, the soon discover where "Owls Dene" is and set off to rescue Dick.  Things don't go quite to plan, and instead of rescuing Dick they find themselves prisoners too!

It soon becomes clear that the owner of "Owls Dene" is up to no good and it is up to the Five (with the help of Richard Kent) to work out an escape plan and get to the Police as quickly as possible.
